Hello!

I would love feedback on my cupcake photo! I had to use artificial light because of the weather, so there’s a hefty shadow in there I don’t love..but I struggle with photographing cupcakes, does anyone have any tips or feedback? I am super self conscious about my photography is this even blog worthy?

I love love love this photo and the immaculate piping! Artificial lighting can be tricky to work with, but it can also be a game-changer if you don’t have much access to natural light.

If you’re looking to lessen the shadow, I’d recommend using a reflector on the left side to redirect the light. You can use something as simple as a white poster board or foam board. Super affordable and effective!

As for the composition, this is a small detail, but it might be worth mixing up the colors here a bit since you have the pink cupcakes on one side and the white (or light pink) on the other. I noticed that my eyes gravitate towards the right side of the picture because of the deeper shade of pink!
