Hello all,

I am very new to Food Blogger Pro and have found it to be very helpful.

My brand will be about cooking dinners for family and friends.  I will also write about urban gardening as we grow some of our food in a small space.

The domain name that I was going to reserve is not available in a .com format.  So, I’ve been spending a week brainstorming and utilizing a bit of AI for name ideas.

I’ve asked some family and friends for feedback and thought I would ask this forum for an opinion on my potential domain name.

1.   Meal Inspired (I would bold the letters ALI as that’s my nickname…could even be one word)

2.  The Flavorful Chemist

3.  Alison at Home

I lean towards the first 2.  So far, the favorite is The Flavorful Chemist.  I get the feeling that my friends chose this name because they know I have a background in chemical engineering.  A couple of friends, however, do not like it.  Perhaps, ‘chemist’ is too technical of a word for food blogging.

Which domain name do you like?

Thank you!!!

Alison Mairet

Hey Alison!

Giving this post a boost in case anyone else has an opinion here. I also like The Flavorful Chemist because it’s unique and speaks to your background! Maybe some other good ones to throw into the hat would be Culinary Concoctions or Engineering Eats 👩‍🔬

Let us know what you decide—I know coming up with a name can be pretty tricky!

Alison,

I think that if you’re going to use “The Flavorful Chemist” (which I love) then most visitors will expect you to have some modern gastronomy going on – how to use liquid nitrogen for your ice cream, etc. At the very least, I think you’d want to be explaining the chemistry behind why things work in cooking the way that they do.

I often search Google for a recipe and I find that I definitely use the domain names of the sites to choose which one I’ll click on, and of the three you suggest, I’d definitely be lured by The Flavorful Chemist, but I’d expect to find some science on the landing page, so I recommend you keep that in mind.

Good luck!

Jo
