I can’t speak on behalf of Feast, but you can email their support team with questions!

I’d recommend you get the free WPForms plugin and try it out with Feast, see if you like the formatting/design options, make sure it works with your theme, etc. Then if that works, you can upgrade to the Pro version in order to use the hidden fields I share in the blog post (but save your money on Pro until you try the free version and know it’ll be what you want).

If you don’t mind reporting back what you find out (on your own and/or from Feast), I’m curious how it works for you!

P.S. If you want to attend my free email marekting roundtable on March 21, I’ll be doing a tech Q&A about how this setup works. I’d love to have you there!

Hi Allea,

Thanks for all your effort on this. For those of us on Feast, it says that WPForms is not compatible: https://feastdesignco.com/plugin-audit/# . Has this changed?

Jacqui

Hey everyone,

If you haven’t seen it already, a “Save this Recipe” strategy has been very popular lately for growing your list of email subscribers by sending the blog post page they’re on to their inbox (to revisit/come back to your site later).

It’s a little techy, so I created a how-to tutorial and step-by-step instructions for how you can set this up using WPForms and ConvertKit. However, if you use other email tools, let me know if you have specific questions about making it work for your tech stack; you can comment below here and I’ll answer them here for others to see too.

I hope this information solves a big issue (the tech setup of something so complex) as well as helps you GROW your list with very interested subscribers wanting more from you!

Read it here 🙂

So glad to hear it! I feel like there is still a lot of mystery around Google Web Stories, so happy to provide clarity if possible.

Hi, Raneem!

Glad to hear you’re seeing a traffic boost from Web Stories! But your experience with negative SEO effects is not unique (Casey Markee explains more about that in this Forum thread).

This page from Google might help give you some more guidance on tagging and/or improving site speed and Core Web Vitals with Web Stories.

I would recommend auditing your Web Stories and removing any that aren’t bringing in traffic, just to improve your overall site speed. Does that help?

I’ve recently started creating web stories and after indexing them, I noticed a significant increase in traffic. However, I noticed that all my stories have red SEO scores. Should I modify any settings to improve this? Also, is it necessary for me to include tags in these stories?

Thanks,

Hi, Diane!

Pinch of Yum has taken a little hiatus on Web Stories this year. But I think there is still an opportunity to see success on that platform! If you’re already creating vertical video/photos for other platforms, it might be worth experimenting with Web Stories to see if you enjoy creating that type of content and if it works for you.

Casey Markee weighed in on Web Stories in this Forum thread, if you’re curious to learn more!

I just watched a youtube video over at tastemaker regarding the wild success of google web stories but I thought this kind of died out.

Is it worth my time to explore and start doing google web stories?  On the video, a woman state she had 6000 sessions a month in July…started doing google web stories in September and qualified for mediavine by December!!!  That sounds unbelievable to me so I wanted to check in with you Bjork.  Have you see this kind of traffic increase?  The comments on this forum are all old.

I’d love to hear from others.  Thanks.

Hi Jessica & Bryan!

Happy to jump in here to share an update on POY. 🙂

We do still publish Web Stories occasionally. We have a similar experience to yours in that a few have taken off, but the overall impact can be hard to measure! Strategy-wise, we’ve started looking at this as a “nice-to-have” vs. “required-to-have.” It definitely can enhance your presence on Google, but our first priority is always to optimize our existing content in the most reliable ways (including relevant H2s, making sure our structured data is tight, including relevant keywords, providing high-quality and relevant information, etc.).

When we publish recipes, we do include a link to it on the recipe post vs. embedding it in the post, based on recommendations from an SEO audit we had done. You can see an example of this here under the video for the recipe.

I hope this helps – let me know if you have any other questions!
