Hi Anna

Glad it was helpful and thank you for the compliment. Just an aside, I am never happy with how my site looks, I’m a tweaker for sure, but have developed some restraint this past year as there is so much to do. 😉 On one of the FBP podcast episodes Bjork shared that he and Lindsay are often not quite happy with how POY looks. (Which I think looks awesome.) But there is only so much time you can spend on styling. (This is not exactly word-for-word what he shared but I think it covers the gist of what he was trying to say. That helped me a lot to leave the look alone for other more important things.

No CSS, yeah!

Thanks, Judith! That information is really helpful. Your site looks great. Have you needed to use CSS since using Feast+?

Hi Anna,

I’ve used the Feast plugin since I brought my site over to WordPress two years ago. It definitely delivers the core web vitals and speed they promise. This past spring I took advantage of their offer to install Feast+ and configure it for a reduced price. (I had half the money put aside for a Casey Markee audit to do it! :O)

I am much happier with the look of my site now than before. I wasn’t happy with the look of my site before, so it has been a bonus. Although I will say that I have not used all the features as there are so many other jobs that need doing, as I know you know! Food blogging is very time-expensive and monetarily costly as well. Feast+ has been made very slick to implement all its features. Skylar and his team are very considerate of food bloggers’ workload and try to take care of as many backend tasks as their service can provide.

Not saying you should or shouldn’t just sharing my experience. 🙂

Hey Anna!

I haven’t seen any threads about this in the forum, but I’m sure someone in the community has some experience with Feast+! I’ll give this post a boost to see if we can get some opinions here 🙂

As I launch my blog I want to strike a balance in creating meaningful content with ensuring my site has the proper infrastructure to support long term growth. My goal is to monetize through a variety of sources including ads (one day!), sponsored content, ebooks, cooking classes, and possibly freelance writing.

I plan to use the Feast plugin, and am curious about Feast+. If you’ve used it, I would love to hear your thoughts. Do you love it, hate it, neither, both? When do you think the ideal time is to adopt it? While I don’t want to spend an extra $999 on something I don’t need from the get go, the idea of spending a year building my site only to redo a lot of work by adding Feast+ seems even less desirable.

Thanks! I’m grateful for your insight!

Hi Brindha!

I like the plugin Related Posts for WordPress, but I’d be curious to hear if anyone else also has recommendations. 🙂

Hi All,

Just wondering what plugin people use for creating a related recipes section for their posts?

I have my own built in related recipes function that I can add to my posts, but its not working quite the way I would like it to so wondering what people use.

I’d like to be able to pick my own related recipes too!

Thank you,

Hi Audrey,

My understanding is that SMTP plugins can help improve the deliverability of transaction emails sent through WordPress (e.g., account registrations, email list signups/confirmations), so it wouldn’t hurt to have it installed!

It looks like WP Mail SMTP comes highly recommended, but it starts at $49/month. Easy WP SMTP is a free alternative you can check out. I also found this list from WPBeginner of SMTP plugins they recommend for bloggers.

I’d be interested to see what recommendations other members have and if they use SMTP plugins for their sites!

Hello,

Right now, I’m switching out my SMTP plugin for transactional email notifications from Fluent SMTP.

Would you have a SMTP plugin to recommend? There are so many out there. Is there any option out there that won’t conflict too badly with feast plugin/WP Rocket/Yoast set up?

Do you think I even need a SMTP plugin or is there a way to set up transactional emails from wordpress through wordpress admin?

Thanks!
