Great question, Jessica! The difference in RPM/CPM is likely because YouTube wants to (and can) make more money. Especially because AdSense is the ONLY option for ads on YouTube. On your blog, you could use a variety of ad platforms, so there is just more competition, which forces them to up their rates a bit. Likely just a case of supply/demand in this space.
