Hi Maz,

We’re so sorry you felt that way. We really enjoyed this episode, and felt like Katie provided listeners with numerous thought exercises and processes to work through to refine your brand vision and to develop a stronger brand strategy. She did use Pinch of Yum for numerous examples, likely because many of our listeners are familiar with that brand so it’s an easy choice to explain some of these concepts. Katie is incredibly qualified at what she does given her background, and we like how she explains this topic in an approachable way.

Because, as we learned in this episode, branding is as much in the eyes of your audience as it is on your website, it is hard to say “change your font and you’ll have a stronger brand” — it’s much more nuanced than that and much of the work of branding lies with the creator. We feel that Katie provided a framework for doing that work. If you didn’t jive with her messaging, no worries! Don’t feel obligated to buy her course. There are many other creators selling similar courses.

This was an entire hour talking about the importance of brand. Every time Bjork asked for actionable steps all she did was say how amazing Pinch of Yum’s brand is. No actionable steps. If this was supposed to be an advert for her course it wasn’t very successful- gives me zero confidence that she has any useful information in her course.
